The University of Derby wanted technology to improve the running of its IT estate, including its business critical applications running Oracle Databases. The University has virtualized a number of its most business critical applications with improved service and no disruption. Agility and recovery between both Data Centres using VMware SRM is a key aspect of this development. The University is deploying a software-defined infrastructure with capabilities of providing a future hybrid solution to connect to cloud services. The business impact were improved service across all applications, better use of all resources and agile applications and improved Service management using vApps.
