Located 60 miles north of Los Angeles, California, the City of Ventura Police Department (Ventura PD) serves more than 100,000 residents and handles 15,000 emergency and non-emergency calls a month. Actively managing a multifaceted strategic plan targeting crime reduction, improved response times, and continued community accountability, the Ventura PD sought an adaptable, flexible, and scalable public safety solution that would help improve services within the community. Ventura PD required that the technology not only maintain but improve upon the safety and quality of life of Ventura residents while maximizing the department's resources. Working with Motorola and Microsoft, the Ventura PD rolled out PremierOne, a comprehensive computer-aided dispatch system designed to provide immediate access to accurate information so department personnel can respond flexibly and effectively.
