Executive Summary

Formed in 1927, Cats Protection has grown to become the UK's leading feline welfare charity. It rehomes and reunites 55,000 cats and kittens every year through its network of over 250 voluntary-run branches and 29 adoption centres. Cats Protection wanted to improve business continuity and disaster recovery strategy and cut carbon footprint. The challenge was to contain growing IT costs and replace ageing equipment. Cats Protection deployed VMware vSphere 4 enables IT departments to cut down on hardware cost and rack space and VMware Infrastructure consolidates server estate and provides high availability for applications.
