Walon supplies finished vehicle logistics to the United Kingdom motor industry. This case study studies the company's transition to and implementation of a new IT system. The company has the responsibility of a vehicle right from the point of its arrival in UK. The paper examines the impact of LANSA system on the way company handles and implements changes and upgradations. The company reduced its costs by modernizing its internal applications by using LANSA. The company launched Project Vision in 2007 to automate vehicle tracking system. It installed GPRS connected PDAs in the trucks. This step greatly enhanced Walon's productivity. Workshop productivity has also increased by increasing the quality controls. The new IT tools have been employed to manage workshops in more effective and efficient ways. These goals were accomplished by implementing second LANSA application. The impact of change of accounting for budgeted time has also been covered in this paper. Waldon historically books the budgeted time taken for the modifications, ignoring the actual time taken. This was changed by installing screens and scanner, so that each job could be registered as soon as it was finished. According to this paper, the company has immensely benefitted from the IT changes made in the organization.
