Western Power was an integrated network provider and retailer that produced and transported electricity and charged consumers, using an in-house developed system, until April 2006 when the company was disaggregated. Western Power needed an independent billing system that would allow the company to handle network charges and bill retailers directly. Western Power engaged Oracle Consulting and Oracle Certified Partner Logica to help deploy Oracle Utilities Customer Care and Billing. The solution has transformed the way the company bills customers and identifies revenue streams, and now enables it to develop a closer relationship with consumers and business clients.
