Several of Stephen Covey's "7 habits of Highly Effective People" have direct correlation to designing an effective service. Habit 2 "Begin with the End in Mind" reminds one to have a vision of completeness and excellence prior to beginning any effort. For effective service design that means understanding the complete set of service requirements as well as the expectations of the service consumer.
