Innovation Network Lecture Series: Self- Storage: Pursuit and Experiences

Watch Now Registration not required

Executive Summary

Human administration for storage is too difficult, with industry reports indicating absurd ratios such as "One human needed for each 1-10 TB" and "4-7 dollars spent on managing each dollar of storage capital." This dilemma pushes to pursue "Self-" storage infrastructures: self-organizing, self-configuring, self-tuning, self-healing, and self-managing systems of storage servers. This webcast will provide a high-level overview of the project, description of the system architecture, experiences from the early efforts, and directions for continuing research.
