Discover how Policy-Based Management (PBM), a system for managing one or more instances of Microsoft SQL Server 2008, can improve the ability to manage servers, databases, and other objects. The presenter of this webcast discusses the three components of Policy-Based Management: policy management, explicit administration, and evaluation modes. The presenter looks at the objects used when configuring policy management: facets, conditions, policies, targets and categories. The presenter examines these different components, explain how the components work together, and demonstrate how the policies defined using the PBM feature are used to monitor and manage servers, databases, and other objects.
