Microsoft Office SharePoint Server can support intranet, Internet, and extranet application solutions, however, the development approach and concerns are different. Using SharePoint for intranets is a well-known practice, but external-facing applications come with the extra challenge of reflecting the company's brand; integrating transactional, personalization, and marketing features; proactively designing for security, stability, high-usage volume, and more. In this webcast, we present best practices for building Internet and extranet SharePoint sites, using out-of-the box features of SharePoint and building add-on frameworks and components that take advantage of the rich integration capabilities of SharePoint. To illustrate these best practices, we show recently launched SharePoint sites.
