For a small business looking to start a viral marketing campaign, it needs to first realize that not everything it does will turn viral. Jonah Peretti tells Business Insider CEO Henry Blodget that in order to start a viral marketing campaign, the small business should focus on its existing customer base. "If you can get some of those customers to share with their friends the story about your business - that gives you a lift," explains Peretti.
