Web-Based Threats - The Silent Danger to Your Business

Registration not required

Executive Summary

Web-based threats, driven by Active Content (e.g., Java applets, ActiveX and VB Scripts), can inflict severe damage to organizations and even compromise corporate confidential information, often without the user being aware that his/her computer has been infected. Unlike email applications, the nature of web browsing requires real-time security solutions. Firewall and other network-level security solutions are not appropriate in combating this threat, as Active Content generally passes freely through these solutions; and it is not feasible to block the HTTP port. As computer threats have evolved from PC viruses, email-based malware and now web-based exploits, so too have security solutions. The presenter will discuss the security concept of "Behavior-blocking", a non-signature based technology designed specifically for protecting against Internet based exploits the first time they strike.
