A Cluster-Based Hybrid Routing Protocol for Aeronautical Ad Hoc Networks
The problem of routing in mobile ad hoc networks is non-trivial because of the dynamic nature of the network topology. In this paper, a cluster based hybrid routing protocol is presented for aeronautical ad hoc networks. A dynamic joint cost clustering algorithm is proposed, which integrates mobility status and degree of aircraft node to form stable cluster. The mobility status includes not only relative velocity but also relative acceleration of aircraft node, in order to predict the status of movement more accurately. Then, a hybrid routing scheme is adopted, with active routing inside the cluster while passive routing among the cluster.
