A Generalized Playfair Cipher Involving Intertwining, Interweaving and Iteration
In this paper, the authors have generalized the classical Play-fair cipher by introducing the concepts of intertwining, interweaving and iteration. The substitution process is carried out by using intertwining. In this cipher, the size of the key is 448 bits and the plaintext block can be of any size. On account of the operations intertwining, interweaving and iteration, the binary bits in the plaintext undergo, markedly, confusion and diffusion at the every stage of the iteration. This strengthens the Cipher significantly.
