Wireless mesh networks (WMNs) basically consist of a set of mesh routers, which communicate with each other via wireless links and form a mesh topology [1-5]. The basic functionalities of these mesh routers are providing the backhaul connection for Wireless LANs (WLANs) and routing the traffic in the backhaul. These mesh routers may also have additional functionalities, based on which they can be classified into the three categories namely gateways: also interface with the Internet, APs: also serve as Access Points (APs) for WLANs and pure mesh routers: only have the aforementioned basic functionalities.
