A Modified Swifter Start Algorithm for Evaluating High Bandwidth Delay Product Networks
It is well known that the TCP congestion control algorithm has been remarkably successful in improving the current TCP/IP function better and efficiently. However, it can perform poorly in networks with high Bandwidth Delay Product (BDP) paths. This paper presents modification to the Swifter Start congestion control algorithm, that may helps the TCP better utilize the bandwidth provided by huge bandwidth long delay links. It also presents results to show a comparison of the original Swifter Start algorithm and the modified Swifter Start algorithm, these are promising enough.
