A Nash Game Algorithm for Distributive Power Control With Faster Convergence in Cognitive Radio

Free registration required

Executive Summary

A novel algorithm is proposed for CDMA Cognitive Radio (CR) system which introduces Nash Game into distributed power control. The authors design an effective cost function, of which there exists the Nash Equilibrium. The existence and uniqueness of the Nash Equilibrium have been proved. Simulation shows that this new algorithm converges faster comparing to the other two classic algorithms while the Signal to Interference Ratio (SIR) meets the requirement. In a wireless communication system, each user contributes to the interference affecting other users, so efficient power control strategies are essential for achieving both Quality of Service (QoS) and system capacity objectives.
