A New Approach of Cryptography for Database Security

Cryptography is a process of encryption/decryption of a plain text/cipher text using appropriate algorithm and suitable key length. Plain text is actually readable facts, data, sentences or information whereas; cipher text is unreadable conversion of the same. In symmetric cryptography a block of plain text is encrypted using appropriate algorithm and suitable key length. Thus, the plain text is converted into cipher text. Similarly, cipher text is converted into plain text using the same key. AES algorithm supports key lengths and plain text block sizes from 128 bits to 256 bits, in the steps of 32 bits. The key length and length of plain text blocks need to be selected independently.
