A new low complexity correlation based symbol timing synchronization algorithm called (MSTS) is presented for MB-OFDM UWB systems. The proposed algorithm attempts to locate the start of Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) window during Frame Synchronization (FS) sequence of the received signal. First, a correlation based function is performed between the current received sequence and the base sequence which is known in the receiver. A maximum likelihood metric is defined to identify the peak value of this function.
