A Novel Key Predistribution Scheme Using One-way Hash Function for Wireless Sensor Networks
To achieve secure communication between sensor nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), it is important to be able to establish efficient key pre-distribution mechanism. In this paper, a novel key establishment scheme has been proposed to achieve both efficiency and security goal. The novelty of this approach lies in that, instead using a key pool consisting of random keys, from which the sensor nodes selected, there are two key pools in the proposed scheme and the keys in one key pool are the hash value of keys in another key pool. Then, each sensor node selects keys from these two key pools while computing shared secret keys during the bootstrapping phase on the fly using the computationally efficient hash function.
