A Pattern-Based Layered Transformation Framework for Service Oriented Architecture
Business and technological changes arises too frequently and require a systematic approach to handle them. These changes affect the whole process and sometimes require sufficient time and resources to handle them. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) provides such type of evolution at the architecture level. In this paper, the authors propose a systematic and incremental approach to handle such an evolution. Their proposed approach is a layered based approach and every layer is dependent on each other. The proposed framework consists of three layers: transformation operators, transformation patterns and transformation rules. Bill payment case study is included in this paper, that outlines the architectural evolution at different abstraction levels. The validation criterion of their proposed framework at its structural and design level is also reported herein.
