This paper introduces a telemonitoring system using the real-time audio/video chatting technology. This system is based on a P2P (Peer-To-Peer) network topologic. Utilizing the windows audio API functions and VFW toolbox, the audio/video signals are transferred, too. The experiment results show that not only the system implements real-time physiological parameters monitoring, but also the face to face communication between the doctor and the patient is available. Today, the medical field is faced with growing public concerns and government demands for reform. The discontentment is directed at the high costs of quality health care and the inability of healthcare specialists to provide adequate medical services to rural populations.
