A wireless Mobile Ad hoc NETwork (MANET) is an infrastructure-less mobile network which is based on radio to radio multi-hoping and has no centralized controller or a fixed router. All nodes are capable of movement and can be connected dynamically in an arbitrary manner. Due to the dynamic nature of network topology, frequent mobility, bandwidth limitation, limited battery power, routing in MANETs is a challenging task. Routing protocols are vital for the proper functioning of Ad hoc networks. A routing protocol in MANET should fairly distribute the routing tasks among mobile hosts.
