A Scientific 3D Visualization for Analyzing Smart Grid Simulations
The authors present an interdisciplinary system that provides a 3D scientific visualization for analyzing smart grid simulations. More specifically, the visualization provides a graphical perspective to a management scheme that optimizes the charging of stochastic electric vehicles on the highway. The system transforms data objects from an experimental run into advance 3D representations. Additionally, object parameters are converted within dynamic frames to accurately portray the simulation. In this respect, a prompt assessment can be performed on a particular experiment or an electric vehicle that allows a researcher to quickly summarize results and to identify interesting areas. Moreover, the system provides a realistic observable perspective to understanding the scientific approach.
