A Secure Billing Service with Two-Factor User Authentication in Wireless Sensor Networks

Recently, Das proposed a secure two-factor user authentication scheme based on hash function, which is efficient enough to be implemented on most of the target resource-constrained devices, such as low-computation smart cards and low-power sensor nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). As Das claimed, the proposed scheme can resist attacks and threats such as many logged-in users with the same login identity, stolen-verifier, guessing, impersonation and replay. In this paper, based on the framework of Das's two-factor user authentication, the authors introduce a secure billing service, and analyze their extended scheme on how to achieve imposter prevention, as well as resist against the drawbacks of Das's scheme.
