A Software-Defined Radio System for Intravehicular Wireless Sensor Networks
Modern vehicles are equipped with a multitude of sensors to collect data that are essential for proper operation of the vehicle. These sensor data include vital information such as exhaust quality and lateral velocity which affect driving safety and environment friendliness, as well as information for improving the comfort and convenience of passengers. As a trend, more and more sensors will be added in the future to make automobiles "Smarter." Currently, these sensors are connected to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) via cables. By 2002, the length of these cables has already added up to over 1000 meters and weighed more than 50 kg, and the cable length still increases rapidly.
