A Study on the Detection of Sailing Under the Influence Using the Linear Predictive Coding

This paper intends to suggest a way to detect a sailor under influence using voice signals. In case of drinking alcohol, the drinking stimulates blood circulation as the ingredient of alcohol enters the bloodstream. Blood supplied to blood vessels of the nasal mucous membrane, which lines the nasal cavities, remains in and expands the blood vessels, which results in blocking the nose and producing a nasal sound. The nasal sound is characterized by a widened formant bandwidth.
