A UML Approach to Build a Mobile Agent
Mobile Agents are one of the most promising technologies of distributed computing. Mobile Agents have certain properties, such as autonomy, mobility and most of all; they fit well in the low-bandwidth network environments. This paper mainly focuses on the information retrieval in a distributed computing environment using a Mobile Agent. This approach is materialized by a UML notation, which includes views to model organizational, lifecycle, interaction and mobility aspects of mobile agents applications contributing to the analysis, design and implementation phases of their development. The PHP programming language is used for the implementation part using the PHP-YAZ and the Z39.50 protocol.
