A Web Script-Based Access Control System Using Probability Density Function of Service Time
An enormous number of access/service requests may be received in a short period of time, triggered by specific events such as an interactive TV program and electronic voting. These service requests can disable the end server when their quantity exceeds its capacity. In order to address the problem, the authors propose a Web script-based access control system using an access ticket assigning mechanism with a suspension time. The proposed system introduces a server that distributes access tickets in an orderly way to the user terminals. In the proposed system, the user terminals that are going to send the service requests can be controlled with a Web script based on technology such as FlashLite.
