Achievable Rate Region Characterization of the MIMO Broadcast Channel With Channel Distribution Information

The Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) broadcast channel with Gaussian noise has attracted tremendous research interest in recent years. Dirty Paper Coding (DPC) has been proved to achieve the capacity region of this channel, whereas various linear precoding techniques have also been developed to reduce complexity. Most current work dealing with the MIMO broadcast channel assumes that instantaneous Channel State Information (CSI) is available at both the transmitter and receivers, in order to fully capitalize on the spatial multiplexing advantages of MIMO transmission.
