Achieving Successful Coexistence Between Lotus Notes and Microsoft Platforms

Whether migrating from IBM Lotus Notes to Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint, or if one requires prolonged coexistence between the two platforms during a merger or acquisition, ensuring interoperability has significant complexity and risk. Without proper planning and implementation, Notes and Exchange users will not have consistent directory information, free/busy information will be inaccessible across platforms and many mail and calendar items will not translate properly. For example, it is common for recurring meetings to translate incorrectly between the two environments, and Exchange does not know how to process traffic from many mail-enabled Notes applications. These issues ultimately interrupt user workflow and productivity.
