Scheduling in a multiantenna downlink channel based on partial Channel State Information at the Transmitter (CSIT) is carried out through a Multibeam Opportunistic Beamforming (MOB) technique. To enable MOB implementation in realistic systems, a threshold is applied at the receivers side to decrease the feedback load, so that only users with a channel indicator above a predefined threshold are allowed to ask for service. A closed form expression for the throughput is obtained for such scenario, where an adaptive modulation strategy is considered to align with the current broadband wireless standards.
