Unified communication is more than providing a unified inbox to users, rather, it should also provide features to enhance users' communication experiences, such as automating communication activities and optimizing communication information retrieval. These features require sophisticated on a unified inbox, including communication history, on-going sessions, and scheduled meetings. The sessions can be in different modalities, such as voice/video calls, Instant Messages (IM), short voice and video messages, voicemails, emails, and social networking activities. To perform the analysis, the authors first need to identify the implicit relationship among communication sessions. In traditional unified inbox, messages with different modalities are usually independent of each other. As a result, users may miss some features.
