Amount of Log-Square-Hoyt Fading in a Satellite Optical Transmission System: Models and Solutions
Interest in the technology of optical Inter-Satellite Communications (ISCs) has been high due to its distinct characteristics from the microwave ISC counterpart. In a recent work, the authors derived the Log-Square-Hoyt fading model for an optical inter-satellite communication system. In the present work, they conduct the analysis on the Amount of Fading (AF) of this system. First, they show that the AF has a closed-form expression. Then, they show that the corresponding optimization model can be reduced to a quartic equation. Numerical results are provided to gain more insights of the system's performance.
