An Adaptive Power Allocation Scheme for Robust Transmission of JPEG Compressed Images Over MIMO-OFDM Systems

Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) wireless technology in combination with Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a promising solution for implementing efficient next-generation Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs) and fourth-generation mobile cellular wireless systems. This paper explores the advantages of using the combined effects of MIMO and OFDM for the transmission of JPEG compressed images. The spatially correlated channel is estimated using a pilot tone transmission and a power allocation based on Lagrangian dual is utilized to improve the power efficiency system.
