An Algorithm for Detection and Removal of Impulse Noise for Corrupted Images
In this paper, an algorithm is proposed for removing Impulse (salt and pepper) noise from corrupted image. The proposed filtering algorithm employs two phases. First phase identify the noisy pixels from corrupted image and in second phase a filter is used to reconstruct the noisy pixel. The experimental result shows that the proposed algorithm performs better than simple median filter for removing the noise and preserves the edges. Since, the authors' algorithm is simple and it is suitable for many real time applications.
