Executive Summary

In this paper, the design of new technique called Dynamic Rate Feedback (DRF), which minimizes the frequency of ACK+Rate packet transmission for rate based transport protocol in ad hoc network is focused. Ad hoc network is dynamically reconfigurable wireless network that does not have a fixed infrastructure. The characteristics of ad hoc network are completely different from that of the wired network. Therefore TCP protocol which is designed originally for wired network cannot be used as such for ad hoc network. Several studies have focused on the transport layer issues in ad hoc network.
