Digital images may be considered as collection of pixels. If a single image is separated into more than one part, then these subparts are treated as fragments for an image. In fragment analysis the authors have to extract information regarding an image's fragments. The utility of fragment analysis is important in order to generate similarity of two fragments of an image. Further, these analyses of fragments are associated in several applications, like archeology, medicine, art restoration, and forensics. They mainly focused on 2D Image Fragments analysis. The main feature of this approach is to obtain information of fragments by calculating boundary contents and color contents.
