An Efficient Passive Approach for Quality of Service Routing in MANETs
The application of Mobile Ad hoc NETworks (MANETs) has been increasing everyday. Attractive features of MANETs are absence of infrastructure and decentralized nature. Routing protocols for mobile ad hoc networks have been explored extensively in recent years. Much of the work is aimed at finding a feasible route from a source to a destination without considering current network traffic and application requirements. This may lead to the network become overloaded due to heavy traffic and the application has no way to improve its performance under a given network traffic condition. Many applications that use MANETs include multimedia data that require Quality of Service (QoS) support for effective communication.
