An Efficient Technique to Reduce Peak to Average Power Ratio in OFDM System
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an attractive transmission technique for high-bit-rate communication systems. OFDM is considered as a very promising candidate for future mobile communication systems. Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) is one of the serious problems in any wireless communication system using multi carrier modulation technique like OFDM, which reduces the efficiency of the transmit high power amplifier. In this paper, proposed scheme will be introduced that combine clipping method with time domain statistical method. It introduces a new PAPR reduction method that performs signal processing in the OFDM time domain together with the clipping technique. The simple no-linear amplitude pre-distortion process of the proposed method changes the statistical characteristics of the OFDM symbol from Rayleigh distribution into Gaussian like distribution.
