Executive Summary

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a collection of many nodes with sensing, computation and wireless communication capabilities. Although there are many algorithms and protocols the major issue is with routing and total energy consumption. In the authors' paper, they proposed a hybrid data collecting scheme that dynamically shifts between time driven and event driven data collecting method. Due to time driven data reporting scheme data accuracy will be high and because of event data reporting scheme longer lifetime of the network can be achieved. In their paper, they combined both collection schemes so that the accuracy of the data and the network lifetime is increased.
