An Implantable Wireless Sensor System and Transreceiver for Rf Telemetry Applications

In this paper, the authors describe the design and implementation of wireless sensor system and low power transreceiver for the RF telemetry system. RF telemetry system having two modules: external module and internal module. The external module consists of a control unit, an inductive energy generating unit, and an RF receiver (RFRx). The implantable module includes, a control unit, a biosignal pre- and post amplifier, an RF transmitter, and an energy harvesting unit. The external module sends the control signals and the required energy to the internal module via inductive coupling. The internal module measures an internal bio-signal and transmits it to the external module through an RF-Tx link .This paper demonstrates the ability to reduce the power consumption and to increase the sensitivity.
