In this paper, the authors present and analyze an improved de-correlator MUD for asynchronous Multi-Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) systems with extended observation window. Specifically, they extend the receivers observation window from one symbol duration to two symbol durations enabling the receiver to completely harness the energy of the data symbol in the ith block in one shot. Hence, unlike previously proposed MUDs for asynchronous MC-CDMA, their approach remove the need to resynchronize to each users' symbol to detect all users' data. Furthermore, they analyze the de-correlator MUD in detail and propose several methods to improve its bit-errorrate performance resulting in gain of upto 2dB relative to the traditional de-correlator MUD proposed.
