Desktop virtualization is a transformative platform that delivers cost-effective, manageable network and desktop access to workers of diverse computing needs. Anti-virus software is one of the largest segments in today's computer security market. Other than perimeter firewalls, no technology enjoys anti-virus software's depth of penetration. Nearly every enterprise deploys anti-virus software on every desktop. In the virtual endpoint ecosystem, common computing practices have not vanished. Rather, solutions such as firewalls and anti-virus need to evolve and adapt to desktop virtualization.
