Executive Summary

Without a doubt, landslide is one of the most disastrous natural hazards. Therefore, landslide susceptibility maps in regional scale are useful guide for future development activities. In this paper, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Geographic Information System (GIS) were used to produce landslide susceptibility map of the Zonouz Plain which is located in North-West of Iran at Azerbaijan province using different geographic data layers. For this purpose, the required layers for generation of the susceptibility maps were prepared by GIS then; causative factors were weighted by AHP to generate landslide susceptibility maps in dry, semi-saturated and saturated conditions. According to the results, slope is the effective factor in landslide susceptibility while, soil humidity has considerable effect in slope stability.
