VMware Thinapp has the ability to provide users with a function whereby they can stream or deliver applications into VMware View desktops. Called application virtualization, the applications made available to VMware View desktops are executed and abstracted from the operating system. With the use of VMware Thinapp, applications can be placed on a shared network and streamed to many users in one go. This can be done without the users having to locally install the application. This application virtualization allows users to be able to access two or more legacy applications in one go. Not only that, each application that is accessed is able to use exactly the version of the browser that it requires.Very often, users like to use presentation technologies such as Citrix XenApp and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services to work with these applications. They use the server infrastructure to execute and display applications in a desktop environment. With the Citrix XenApp and Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, users can take the first step toward a virtualized desktop. This way the end user is able to work on a single, aggregated environment using the desktop operating system of his choice for any of the applications. View desktops are a useful solution for administrators because they are the most easily supported container that uses their preferred application platform based on the deployment, management, and support needs for each application in their portfolio.
