The purpose of this paper was to demonstrate the application of computerized digitizing process on exploring the historical reflection of the old pop album cover. Through digitizing technique, the characteristics of old pictures could be measured. Based on the color attributes of pop album cover, a diachronic study was conducted. It was argued that the denotation is significant related to the color attributes and the connotation is not necessary significant related to the color attributes. The population of this study was those pop albums published from 1970 to 2000. The sampled representative pop album covers were collected and scanned into digital files for both color attribute analysis and content analysis.
