Area managers are responsible for the management and overall profitability of a group of stores. They promote the generation of sales and form an important link in the management communication chain, by leasing with store managers as well as with key departments at head-office. Area manager must be able to deal with people at all levels and gain the co-operation of people. They must have strong leadership skills, be well organised and decisive. A high energy level, self-motivation and a sense of responsibility are also important, as is the ability to cope with considerable pressure.
