Autonomic Management of Virtualized Resources in Cloud Computing

The last five years have witnessed a rapid growth of cloud computing in business, governmental and educational IT deployment. Hosting services in a cloud gradually supersedes traditional IT products in both small and large companies. It enables small businesses to have on-demand access to resources that would not likely be available if they needed to build the infrastructure themselves; it allows large companies to provide easy and fast application deployment and adaptation to end users, improving hardware utilization in existing infrastructures. The success of cloud services depends critically on the effective management of virtualized resources.
