Bluetooth Indoor Positioning Using RSSI and Least Square Estimation
Bluetooth is a widely used short-distance wireless communication technology. Using Bluetooth as an indoor positioning technique can be very useful in many scenarios. This paper studied wireless positioning technology and proposed a positioning method using linear least square method to fit the relations between distance and signal strength by measuring RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). The authors have tested their method inside a square room fitted with four access points and one mobile device. LSE (Least Square Estimation) is used to calculate the position of the mobile device. Results show that it is a practical method to locate Bluetooth devices.
