Executive Summary

Multi-hop wireless networks have been intensively studied in recent years for both commercial and government applications. Such networks, static or mobile, have the potential to serve as either a self-contained network that provides communication without the presence of an established infrastructure, or as a ubiquitous bridge between end users and the high speed wired infrastructure. Hence, issues of the connectivity and capacity of such networks are of interest. One major concern with wireless networks is scalability.
